I've noticed that series nowadays have less and less episodes. Particularly sci-fi, it's unheard of to have over a dozen episodes.

I've noticed that series nowadays have less and less episodes. Particularly sci-fi, it's unheard of to have over a dozen episodes.

It's because Voyager is old now....hard to believe but it was last on the air 21(!) years ago. Back in the day before streaming and when networks invested time and money into 20+ episode seasons. But sadly you're right, now most series are 12 episodes or less now. There are still some holdouts with ≈20 episodes, but that number keeps dwindling.
