Honestly, I have no problem with the look or demeanor of the character. Cavill played it pretty true to type, as Geralt was in the books and the video games. I don't know about the whole Fabio thing, as far as I can remember, Fabio was a more romantic type of character. Geralt was written by the author to be more like the Man With No Name type of guy. Imagine Clint Eastwood wielding medieval weapons instead of guns, and you've got Geralt. A typical adult male type of fantasy hero.
If I recall correctly, you're not the biggest fan of fantasy, right? Maybe you went into it looking for it to be shit and were highly critical of it right out of the gate?
