Awesome Tom Holland and ‘Spider-Man’ cast visit boy who saved sister from dog attack

By Alex Mitchell - New York Post

As if you needed another reason to love the webslinger.

Tom Holland, Zendaya and the cast of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” spent an amazing day on set with a fellow hero — little Bridger Walker, who put his life on the line to save his little sister from a dog attack in 2020 at age 6.

The devout Marvel fan’s unparalleled bravery has turned the boy from Cheyenne, Wyo., into an international sensation. Walker was promised by Tom Holland that he could spend a day on set with the crew, according to Bridger’s father, Robert Walker.

“They don’t just act the part of friendly neighborhood heroes — that’s what they truly are,” he wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post that detailed the family’s special day.

“The look on the kids’ faces was priceless when we rounded the blue-screen to see Tom, in full costume, high above the set on a light post. It was emotional to see him wave at the kids like he was the one that was supposed to be excited — not the other way around.”

When it came time for Walker to finally meet Holland in full costume, the web-head took his younger disciple on a live aerial swing across the film set while also showing the little hero tricks behind sticking Spidey’s iconic, three-point pose.

“Then bend this leg, really bend it,” Holland is heard on video instructing Walker.

“I can’t tell you guys apart … the Spider-Men,” Zendaya calls to the duo.

“Zendaya immediately approached my teenage daughter and told her how much she loved her nails,” Walker’s post continued. “I don’t know if she will ever know how much that simple act means to me — to see my sweet daughter light up with self-confidence and joy.”

Holland’s brother, Harry Holland, also served as the Walker family’s guide throughout the day and was described by the father as “such a gentleman and genuinely good person” for helping to bring the Spider-Man magic to life.

Instances on set like that proved to the older Walker, who at first was “a little apprehensive that once the ‘curtain was pulled back’ that the magic of the movies would be lost for the kids,” that it was, in fact, the opposite case.

“The entire cast/crew made our kids feel like stars … Individuals who heard about a little boy’s injury, who wanted to make it right. People who were willing to stop a very busy day of shooting to make my little boy smile, and give him a chance to ‘web-swing’ with his hero.”

Months prior to the set visit, Holland’s call to Bridger while the boy was recovering from his 90-stitch injuries had left him “the most starstruck,” his father told People magazine.

Fellow Marvel stars including Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Brie Larson had also reached out to Walker previously to commend his heroism.

“His emotional recovery was really a worldwide effort and that was so special to us.”
