My favorite part of this is that now because someone who isn't part of their 'groupthink' at Twitter owns the largest share of the company, that all the people on the far left are worried that things are going to 'change for the worse' in their view. The horror that a social media company would actually allow freedom of speech and not censor someone because they have different the wrong opinions.

Oddly enough that might be an asset. He's not tuned and confused by the currently fucked-up collective consciousness.

Whine Progressive activists, media pundits react to Elon Musk's Twitter takeover: 'No good will come of this'

By Hanna Panreck | Fox News

Reports that Tesla CEO Elon Musk now owns a 9.2% stake in Twitter garnered a wide range of responses on the social media platform, with free speech advocates celebrating the Tesla owner's new role.

"Maybe he can find out who at Twitter censored the Hunter Biden story?" Dave Rubin, host of "The Rubin Report" said. Musk became Twitter's biggest shareholder on Monday and will sit on the board of directors.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal said Tuesday that Musk "would bring great value" to the board.

"Elon Musk is totally unfit to run Twitter! He might not spend every waking hour thinking of new ways to control, monitor, and ban speech," journalist Michael Tracey joked.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., said Musk "opposes big tech censorship" and that "all freedom-loving Americans can get behind" the news.

Fox News contributor Clay Travis said it was "absolutely glorious" that the verified "bluechecks" who once pushed the "Twitter is a private company, if you don’t like it, leave!" philosophy were the same ones who are "suddenly shaken to their core" that Musk was now the largest shareholder.

Others thought the news would pose a problem for the social media platform.

"No good will come of this. Hoping entrepreneurs are dreaming up new alternatives to Twitter and Facebook," activist, author and president of The New Agenda Amy Siskind said.

Bloomberg opinion columnist and MSNBC political analyst Tim O'Brien said free speech advocates should be worried. "Musk fashions himself a free speech purist, but bullies critics," he said.

"The newest member of Twitter’s board of directors once went on Twitter and called a U.S. Senator ‘Senator Karen’ because she suggested he—the richest man in the world—should pay income taxes," Sawyer Hackett, podcast host and advisor to Julián Castro, the former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during the Obama administration, said. "He paid $0 in income taxes last year."

MSNBC's Joy Reid asked her followers how many of them would "remain" on Twitter if they bring "Trump, his white nationalist friends, Q-anon and the anti-vaxxers back."

Twitter's shares jumped 25% following Musk's news on Monday, with individual shares priced at $49.81 on Monday. Musk criticized Twitter on March 26, and said he was giving the idea of creating a new platform "serious thought."

"Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy," he said, asking his followers if a new platform was necessary.

Twitter is nothing but "bullies, bigots, and spam". Add in some hypocrites and you have the whole gambit.

Boo Hoo ‘Some People Are Dusting Off Their Resumes’: Elon Musk Is Stirring ‘Fear’ Among Twitter Employees

By Ben Zeisloft - The Daily Wire

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is stirring “fear” among some Twitter employees, according to a new report from Reuters.

Earlier this week, Elon Musk became Twitter’s largest shareholder after he purchased a 9.2% stake in the social media firm. He has promised to “make significant improvements to Twitter” and has polled his followers on whether or not Twitter “rigorously adheres” to the principles of free speech.

In the wake of his purchase — after which he received a position on Twitter’s board of directors — many employees are wary of reforms that Musk may bring to the site. Twitter told Reuters that the company’s board “plays an important advisory and feedback role across the entirety of our service” while daily decisions are made by Twitter’s management and employees.

One employee found this distinction “hard to believe” and told Reuters, “If that’s the case, why would Elon want a board seat?”

Reuters added that other employees fear Musk will alter Twitter’s “corporate culture” of “inclusivity,” as Musk “has faced widespread criticism for posting memes that mocked transgender people and efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19.”

“Some people are dusting off their resumes,” another employee told the outlet. “I don’t want to work for somebody [like Musk].”

Twitter employees have been the subject of mockery for their favorable view toward censorship — even by others in the technology world. Lulu Cheng Meservey — the vice president of communications for Substack, a platform that supports subscription newsletters — recently jested that Twitter employees should not bother applying to her company if they worry about Musk’s reforms.

“Substack is hiring! If you’re a Twitter employee who’s considering resigning because you’re worried about Elon Musk pushing for less regulated speech… please do not come work here,” she tweeted. “But for everybody else, we really are hiring! Join a talented, determined, passionate, motley team of all backgrounds and beliefs. We debate respectfully, execute maniacally, and live to serve writers and podcasters.”

Indeed, Musk’s takeover of Twitter appears to be at least partially motivated by the company’s censorship. According to Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, Musk consulted with the Christian satire site — which was suspended from Twitter for an article that jokingly named Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine as “Man of the Year” — before purchasing his stake.

“Musk reached out to us before he polled his followers about Twitter’s commitment to free speech,” Dillon reported. “He wanted to confirm that we had, in fact, been suspended. He even mused on that call that he might need to buy Twitter. Now he’s the largest shareholder and has a seat on the board.”

‘Hostile Takeover Inbound’: World Reacts To Musk Not Joining Twitter’s Board As He Posts Cryptic Tweet

By Ryan Saavedra - The Daily Wire

Entrepreneur Elon Musk set the internet ablaze on Sunday night after Twitter, which he recently became the largest shareholder of, announced that he had declined their offer to join the company’s board.

“Elon Musk has decided not to join our board,” Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal said in a statement. “We announced on Tuesday that Elon would be appointed to the Board contingent on a background check and formal acceptance. Elon’s appointment to the board was to become officially effective 4/9, but Elon shared that same morning that he will no longer be joining the board.”

“There will be distractions ahead, but our goals and priorities remain unchanged,” Agrawal later added. “The decisions we make and how we execute is in our hands, no one else’s. Let’s tune out the noise, and stay focused on the work and what we’re building.”

Shortly after the announcement was made, Musk tweeted out an emoji of a face with a hand over its mouth, which usually means “to cover your mouth, not to speak, to mute” and is typically used to “express emotions of rapture, smirk, shy smile, or happiness.”

However, Musk later deleted the tweet.

After becoming their top shareholder with control of more than 9% of the company, Musk signed an agreement with Twitter for the following terms as long as he served on their board: “Mr. Musk agrees that, for so long as Mr. Musk is serving on the Board and for 90 days thereafter, Mr. Musk will not, either alone or as a member of a group, become the beneficial owner of more than 14.9% of Company’s common stock outstanding at such time, including for these purposes economic exposure through derivative securities, swaps or hedging transactions.”

Since Musk declined to join the board, he is not bound by any restrictions on how much of the company he can buy, journalist Yashar Ali noted.

“Hostile takeover inbound,” Austen Allred, CEO Bloom Institute of Technology, tweeted. “My read of this: (I’m guessing). 1. Twitter board wakes up to realize Elon owns 9% of the company. There’s a path to him taking over. 2. Offers a board seat contingent upon him not buying too many shares. Try to contain. 3. Negotiations break down on term details. 4. ???”

Matt Bilinsky, a business attorney, suggested that the reason Musk did not join Twitter’s board was because he would not have been able to say much about the company publicly. “Since the Board announcement he’s been crowdsourcing ideas and chatting via Twitter,” he tweeted. “He quickly realized that’s all over as soon as he actually joins the Board and tapped out.”

“One board seat doesn’t translate to much power,” another account noted. “Only if you have majority control can you fire management and change a company’s direction. Seems like this was lost on many people. Musk may want more than 15%. If so, the poison pill plan is underway to block him.”
