    Gas Prices and MPG

Out of interest, what vehicles do you chaps all drive, and how many MPG do you get from them?

Our fuel has now hit £7.74 a US gallon, which due to our currency also tanking means it's only $9.50 a gallon equivalent, if currency would have held value, we'd be vastly over $10 now.

So what do you drive and what do you get.
I tend to do mainly short runs about the place often in urban areas, driving an Audi A4 automatic (first automatic I've ever driven, fastest car I've ever driven and wonderfully smooth) giving about 38 MPG US gallon. 46 UK gallon.

The only vehicle I own that has a display for it is one of my island cars that I start, drive 1/2 mile and shut off. When I got it here I think it was around 26-28. Now it shows 14.8. . My most fuel efficient car is my Camry I have at work. I start it and shut it off 50+ times a day and our work pumps don't have a meter to know how much I'm putting in it. My "Mainland" car is the only one that gets any normal driving use, it's a Honda Odyssey and I don't track it but some quick math and I think I'm around 22MPG USD/USG. Probably closer to 30 on long roadtrips.

2006 Honda Civic EX 30 mpg city / 40 mpg highway

2012 Honda Odyssey 19 mpg city / 28 mpg highway

The Civic may be on its last legs. The paintjob is all but gone, it's starting to rust out, and components are deteriorating. It runs well now, but the cost of keeping it so might become infeasible. The last estimate for a total paintjob was $3500.

2015 Silverado 1500 5.3l, automatic trans, around 24mpg on highway. Dunno about around town. Never checked.
2020 Challenger 6.4l, auto trans, about 23mpg on highway. No clue around town.

In my home town, premium unleaded (93 octane) is about $4.90/us gallon. Regular unleaded (87 octane) is about $4.20.

My work truck is a silverado 2500, with a service body. 6.0l and about 13mpg on highway.

Oh, I should mention that highway speeds are in excess of 75mph.
