Woman bites passenger, tries to open door on Southwest flight from Texas, feds say

A woman bit another passenger after trying to open an exit door during a Southwest Airlines flight from Texas to Ohio, federal officials said.
Southwest Flight 192 departed from Houston to Columbus on Saturday, Nov. 26, an FBI special agent said in the criminal complaint.
But the flight wasn’t able to make it to its destination initially.
A 34-year-old woman on board shoved a flight attendant while trying to get to an exit door, the complaint says.
After flight attendants restrained the woman, she asked them if she could look out a window. When she was told no, she lunged at the exit door and tried to pull the handle, the complaint says.
Another person on the flight wrestled her to the ground, and the woman bit them on their right thigh, the complaint says.
She told the passenger “Jesus told her to open the plane door,” the complaint says.
Then the flight made an emergency landing in Little Rock, Arkansas, and officers arrested the woman.
The bitten passenger was taken to the hospital for antibiotics and a hepatitis shot, the complaint says.
The flight was then able to make it to Columbus, Southwest said in a statement to McClatchy News.
The woman faces two federal charges: assault within maritime and territorial jurisdiction and interference with flight crew members and attendants.
