    Discussion Your favorite sports movie?

What is everyone's favorite sports film? There are definitely some very good ones out there (along with some bad ones).

Off the top of my head (and in no particular order), I think my top 5 are:

    Hoosiers
    We Are Marshall
    Field of Dreams
    For Love of the Game
    The Longest Yard (original)

If I had to put a golf movie on my list, it would be The Greatest Game Ever Played

As for the Longest Yard remake (Mean Machine in the UK), it was better than I was expecting, but it still didn't measure up to the original IMHO.

Hoosiers is a beautiful, old fashioned masterpiece, with breathtaking music and cinematography, as well as perhaps the finest performance of Dennis Hopper's career. On top of that, it is based on a true story and has every element a sports film should have. One of my favorites. Might have to dig out the DVD tonight.

Just so you know, a Hoosier is a nickname for a person from the state of Indiana, where the film is set.

Oh, one of the actors in the movie was playing basketball in college at the time...and the NCAA actually suspended and fined him for doing the film!
    Behold my signature~!!
