DGX your grammar in the title of this thread is deplorable.

    ----------

    Winter's Bone

Not to be confused with The Lovely Bones

This was a really different movie for me. It featured life in the impoverished rural Ozarks in Arkansas which are apparently just totally hillbilly and very dark and cold both literally and metaphorically. I saw it on several critics' lists of best movies of 2010 and was really glad I watched it. It had a unique feel to it. Slow at times, but not in a bad way. Just an amazing story about a girl whose father is gone leaving her to raise her sick younger siblings and try and save the family home. The kid has some serious balls. Some of the secondary characters were pretty amazingly performed and construed as well.

Think I'll read the book now.

Lately I've been in a slump as far as finding something worthwhile and this movie didn't help...

Israeli film about a tank crew on the first day of the Lebanon war in 1982. Film is in Hebrew with subtitles.

    I found it horribly boring

    True Grit (2010)

Meh... it was not all that different from the original... and not particularly superior.
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.

    The Fighter (2010)

Good movie... gritty, honest, worth watching...

    127 Hours

It was pretty good! I'm not sure it lived up to the reviews I read but it was intense, and James Franco was awesome.
