The Amazing Spider-man Two
Overall I enjoyed it but.....
Jamie Foxx was wasted as Electro IMO
Too many villains once again, dilutes and ruins these movies for me
I'm warming up to Andrew Garfield. He still tries to do the cool, quiet burn thing which doesn't work...he is better when there's humor though
Liked the cinematography, slow mo when the scene needed it worked well
Guy who played Harry Osborn looked more Goblinish without the make up
and a question for folks that have seen it....
The Expendables 3
I liked this cheese fest. A lot of wasted talent though. Gibson and Banderas were good...the writing could have been a lot better IMO in terms of the banter and jokes the characters share. Then I saw Stallone was heavily involved in the screenplay and writing duties
I'm not a movie snob but there are mountains of gold there with this cast and most of the banter/exchanges fell flat (Stallone and Statham for example).
..and I could watch Statham fight all day long..
Tracks
True story of Robyn Davidson, who in 1977 walked from Alice Springs west to the Indian ocean, a journey of 1700 miles. She took four camels and her dog, Diggity
If you didn't like all of the walking in Lord of the Rings, this movie probably isn't for you
Beautifully shot and acted...it's a slow journey with lots of lingering longshots of the stark Australian landscape.
Davidson has led an interesting life. Member of The Push, lover of Salman Rushdie in the 80's...she's traveled everywhere studying aboriginal people.
I'm currently watching Oculus...alone...and it's 2:18 am
oh, and i thought spiderman 2 wasn't very good tbh
it was maybe just bad timing for me because i had just seen the winter soldier a week or so before spiderman 2. winter soldier might be my favorite "super hero" movie so far
DemonGeminiX (08-09-2014)
If you liked the first one I'm sure you would like this one, and the girl.from Penny Dreadful is in it batting taken to pound town
Oculus
I liked this one. A sister and brother witness their Dad lose his mind and kill their Mom. Boy goes to a psychiatric ward for 12 years, while the sister plans to prove that it was an old mirror that's responsible. Slow paced, creepy and I liked how it flipped back and forth between the two timelines to tell the story.
Not jump-scare frightening, certainly well made and interesting though. I liked that the two leads in their early 20's were both intelligent, in different ways.
Good date movie
I'll have to check that out.
I just got back from this:
You're not missing much if you skip it, but if you want some brain dead entertainment and you like Dwayne Johnson, by all means, go ahead and smell what the Rock is cooking.

Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.
