Get On Up
Boseman gives a great performance. The movie jumps back and forth showcasing various times in James Brown's life. They lightly skim over his abuse and drug problems, focusing more on the music and how he pioneered the way some black artists got paid. I'm somewhat of a student of this era in music (cuz I love me some real R&B and funk baby) and there's a good scene where he explains that people will copy him, everyone will take a little bit of his sound and adopt it as their own.
The film reminded me of The Doors with Val Kilmer. A great lead actor channeling the artist and good cinematography portraying the times... but ultimately nothing new is disclosed. I would call this James Brown-Lite
I liked it a lot more than I was expecting...right up until the ending
You went to the cinema to see The Hobbit or is there a bluray rip out already?
Your point? I've had bluray copies before a movie has even hit the cinema
