I'll probably still watch it
Have you seen "it follows" yet? Meant to be a really good horror I grabbed it last week but haven't got around to watching it yet!
Nope, haven't seen that one yet
I really enjoyed it......... until the ending Worth a watch though
Took me a little bit longer, but I finally went and caught it. Good action, lots of tense moments. The visuals were fantastic. The overall storyline was not as quite as good, but it did keep you on the edge of your seat. Don't get me wrong, some of the ideas were cool, even if they're a bit unbelievable, but this is a movie about genetically engineered dinosaurs in a theme park, so believability went out the window in the very first one back in the 90s. I wasn't as impressed with Chris Pratt in this as I was with him playing Peter Quill in The Guardians of the Galaxy, but chalk that up to some generic dialogue in this one. There was some romantic cheese between him and Bryce Dallas Howard, and it felt really forced. Writers really should really try to retire the romance tropes found in action flicks and try to come up with newer and fresher ones.
With all that being said, a lot of people are calling for Pratt to take over the reigns of Indiana Jones, but based on this performance I would say no. Based on his performance in Guardians, I can sorta kinda see it... if I stretch out my expectations a bit. I don't think he could pull a good Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. But then again, neither can Harrison Ford nowadays either.
I'm assuming there's going to be a sequel since the door was left open in more than one respect. We'll see if Steve-O runs with it.
I'm giving it 3 and 1/4 out of 5. Go see it, get your popcorn and your drink, plant your ass and turn your brain off. It's entertaining, but it doesn't require much in the way of thought. Definitely a summer flick. Check it out during a reduced price matinée, or wait for it to come out on dvd/bluray/downrent. But do check it out.

unbelievable...I keep hearing that word when describing Jurassic World
Chris Pratt to me is a likeable guy, but like in Guardians he just doesn't have the oomph to convince me he's a badass or a leading man
Still Alice
This was a tough watch for me as we recently had to commit my Mom to a full time care facility.
Julianne Moore does a great job. My only complaint was that the movie is short and Moore's performance should have been given more time to unfold.
There's a certain look that people get who develop dementia or Alzheimers...something happens to their eyes. At the end Julianne Moore nailed it

I went and saw Terminator Genisys last night and found it rather entertaining! They recreated several scenes from the original movie and did a fantastic job mimicking the same dialog and camera moves.
Awesome sig by fricnjay!!!
I watched a couple nasty scenes on redtube.. Really good.

I thought this was a decent movie and recommended.
Jurassic Park was unbelievable, but it was a good, entertaining flick. The trick with these movies is to distract you enough from the believability aspect just enough for you to get sufficiently entertained so that when all is said and done, you find yourself looking past the believability aspect in spite of the utter walking all over reality. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull failed horribly at this. Jurassic Park was fantastic at it. It brought you back to your childhood love of dinosaurs, and you were in awe when you first saw them on the screen. You forgot that it was all cgi and animatronics. This one almost made it. Almost.
Chris Pratt is a very likable guy. He's an everyman's guy. A guy's guy. I get what you mean when you say you can't see him as a leading man, but he's done it twice and I'm telling you, I believe that in Guardians, he held his own quite well. But that's how the StarLord/Peter Quill character was written. Another issue I had with Jurassic World's writing: Pratt's part was completely serious. It's like he was completely tense all the time. There was no break in his serious demeanor. Pratt has got comedic chops. He's good at being goofy. Not Carrey goofy, but you know, one of those guys that makes you smile and they don't overdo it. It goes to his likability. He's got great timing in that respect. He should be in parts that play up to that aspect of his acting ability. Or they should rewrite the parts slightly to play up to that aspect. The writers dropped the ball in that respect here. Even Sam Neill had some zingers here and there in the first one to break up the seriousness every once in a while. And that's what this movie needed, a little break in the tension here and there. A leading man who was written a little more human and showed a tad bit of humor here and there when appropriate.

Thought it was pretty entertaining.
I wanted to see that but for some odd reason they didn't bring it to our theater. But thanks for the reminder, I'll find it later and watch it.
