Yeah. And I've said this before, but the Extended Ultimate Edition of BvS was light years better than theatrical version.
The problem is the plot was kinda stupid, and virtually all of the characters' dialog was terrible. Some of the characters were absolute bastardizations of what they are in the comics. The entire movie went for style over substance. They disrespect the source material completely. You're sitting through the movie not looking forward to anything except for the credits to start rolling.
Will Smith as Deadshot, an assassin with a heart of gold, at least where his daughter is concerned. That's just not Deadshot. The heartfelt scenes were completely laughable, and you can say that about every character. I'm sorry, but Will Smith doesn't belong in comic book movies. He should have signed on for the Independence Day sequel instead.
Jared Leto is a fucking horrible Joker. You can't help but compare him to Romero, Nicholson, and Ledger. He falls short of all of them. Hell, even the animated versions of the Joker are better than Leto. I was kinda miffed when I read that they cut some of his scenes, but after seeing his performance, I'm thanking them for that kindness.
Harley Quinn... Margot Robbie is gorgeous, hands down. Her portrayal of crazy is ridiculous. She might be a good actress in other types of roles, but she's just completely unbelievable, and in some scenes, painful to watch.
The Enchantress was ok in the beginning, but at the end... "please will you just shut... the... fuck... up?" They botched her story too. Cara sucks as an actress. She needs to stick with modeling.
I like Joel Kinnaman, but he just wasn't given anything to work with here.
You're not feeling any kind of danger in this movie. You don't care about any of the characters.
There were some cool effects, but really, you can make a beautiful looking plate of food, but if it tastes like shit, it tastes like shit.
I have no idea what DC/WB is trying to do, but they're really sucking at it.
None of the characters respect the source material, and the way they introduce characters is horrendous. And it's absolutely true in this film.
The comic book Suicide Squad is cool. The movie? Not so much. The writer and director (same guy, btw) should be tarred and feathered.
