I am Mother. Meh. It was alright.

Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.

Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse
Lots of accolades for this cartoon and the graphics were well done. I wasn't one of the people who liked the story however. Too many ...things.
Written as a comedy so it never generated any tension or menace.
Finally watched Get Out. Really enjoyed it, not jump scary, just creepy and suspenseful. The less you know about the plot going into it, the better.
Shazam!
Meh. I thought it was boring.

Kon-Tiki (2012)
True story of Thor Heyerdahl's 4300 mile journey from South America to the Polynesian Islands on a raft made of balsa wood in 1947.
Heyerdahl was attempting to prove a theory that the Polynesians could have traveled from South America on rafts just using the tradewinds and currents.
He traveled with five other men, who despite not having experience, both built and sailed the raft.
It took 101 days and they made it. Complete with pictures and some film. When you consider what an absolute crap-shoot the journey was in terms of landing on any land mass 5000 miles west of the starting point, it seemed more like a suicide mission than a scientific journey.
And Thor couldn't swim

8 Days: To the Moon and Back
Interesting idea of using the actual voice transmissions from the moon landing lip-synched by actors playing Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins.
They used real footage and pictures along with new graphics, while reenacting communications throughout the mission.
The mission still fascinates me when you consider that Apollo 8 was the first craft to orbit the moon, only seven months (Dec/1968) before Apollo 11 attempted to land on it.

Wild Wild Country
Engaging six part docuseries uses actual footage and current interviews with key people involved to tell the story of the Bhagwan Rajneesh's followers, who moved to a rural area of Oregon to set up a town. They had money, intelligence, modern habits and thousands of people.
The key player was the Rajneesh's secretary/second in command Sheela. I've rarely seen a woman who both energized a following and then weaponized it.
Without spoilers (events took place primarily from 1981-1984), this is a fantastic and horrible story of how rural American tried to fight a cult who used America's own laws against them.

Nothing innovative or intellectual for me.
John Wick pt. 1&2
The History of Time Travel (amazon)
Interesting documentary style take on the invention of the first time machine.
What a pile of shit
Got my Atmos ceiling speakers installed and watched Ready Player One in 4k and Dolby Atmos. Holy Shit Balls Batman it was awesome. The audio was amazing totally immersive and visually it was stunning. But the story was surprising good.
Anchorman 2. Funny and stupid all rolled into one misshapen ball.
