    Browser addons, extensions, and tweaks

If you have any cool addons, extensions, or tweaks for any of the major browsers and think others would find them useful, post them in here.

Please note, this is not the thread to say "I hate 'insert browser name here'". Nobody cares and most importantly I won't be amused, and I like to be amused.

Now on to the good stuff

    IE9 Release

I really like what Microsoft has done with IE9. It is super fast and I like a lot of the changes. It is beyond Beta now and up to the RC release. If you want to give it a whirl you can grab it here:

    www.microsoft.com/IE9

And to make things even better, I think MS is learning when it comes to browser customization. While IE9 is still not nearly as customizable as Chrome or Firefox, it is slowly getting better. I came across a free ad blocker that works with IE9 (and I assume it works with IE8 as well). I have been using it for a few days and it seems to work really well so far. You can grab it here:

    Firefox Extensions I Love

Now for my FF browser, these are a few addons/scripts that I just can't live without. I won't mention the 2 common ones (AdBlock Plus and NoScript as everyone knows about those already).

    Addons

Download Statusbar - This gets rid of the dumb download window that FF always wants to open and puts your current downloads right down on the status bar.

Greasemonkey - this allows you to run user scripts (which I will list below) on FF version 3.x

Scriptish - just like Greasemonkey, but works for the FF4.x Beta releases (Greasemonkey doesn't work on FF4.x Beta)

    Scripts

Just Show Image - this user script is awesome. Even in FF with ad blocking and NoScript running, you can click on an image thumbnail and when the full sized image opens, there is still crap on the page. With this script installed, the only thing you get when you click on the thumb is the image, nothing else. I love it.

The Cavern Link Checker - this script will tell you if the download links you see on a page are active or not. Works for a ton of filehosts, but it doesn't always play well with some of them, giving a false negative sometimes. Still very much worth having IMO

Note: Both those user scripts are also available as extensions for the Chrome browser

    Last Pass Password Manager

This thing rocks....it's free (although there is also a paid version, but so far the free version does all I want and then some) and it's a great password manager. It works with all four major browsers now too....FF, Opera, IE, and Chrome. If you don't have one, I recommend this one highly. Install it on every PC you use, keep one master password to login, and then you have all your passwords all the time.

I use Firefox with the adblock plus (absolute necessity!) and I have the persona's add on as well which means I have a lovely white tiger for the whole of my address/toolbar

As Opera users, I don't need a ton of scripts/add-ons since a lot of it is built in and has been forever..but now we Opera users have extensions to use aswell, but I have found only one this far to use... Imageresizer - does the same as FF does: fits the pictures on the page so that one doesn't have to scroll up/down/sidetoside to see all of it. I had adblock, but I didn't see it doing any better job than Opera's built-in content blocker.

    Ad Blocking for IE

IE9 uses tracking protection lists to control certain things and I was looking around and it can be used just like AdBlock Plus for FF. All you have to do is add the list and it's done. Someone made a list for IE based on the list for FF AdBlock plus and you can grab it here:

    http://dayngo.com/static/filter.html

And another list by someone else:

    http://fanboy.co.nz/ie.html

I added both lists just to be safe

    Spell Check for IE9

I always thought it was stupid for MS not to have a spell checker built in to IE9. Well, there is a free addon that will do it for you and it works just like the spell check in FF. You can grab it here:
