Chicken shawarma platter with rice, pita bread, hummus, salad, pickles and olives and a few sauces. This little local shop absolutely loads you up for $10 and makes their own pickled veg. So good.

I'm not crazy about these Instapots but friends served us some chicken curry they made in theirs... honestly it tasted better after a 15-20 minute pressure cook than mine does in 2-hours slow simmering on the stove I think I might be converted... Curious to test it out with my pasta sauce which I usually simmer for hours.

Did you try to eat it first?

So lazy with cooking this week... just went to the deli and got some random salads, cold cuts and a baguette to munch on for dinner the last two night I'll get back to the grill this weekend.

Safeway was having a killer sale on steak the other day. They had the family pack of Angus NY Strip steaks on sale, normally $14.95/lb, they were $6.49/lb. But to make it better, in the app there was another coupon that brought the price down another $1.59/lb. So I got a pack of 4 steaks that were all over one pound each for just over $24 when the original price was about $64 for the pack.

Grilled them up today to celebrate Juneteenth
