    Watermelon as we speak.

Question : does anyone here put salt on their melon?
My wife thinks I'm crazy for doing it.

Works well on cantaloupe too. If the weather is hot why not

    Not crazy at all!

I make a watermelon salad in the summer. Dead easy: Dice up a couple cups of watermelon, add a handful of finely sliced mint, a handful of good crumbled feta, salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice. Absolutely unbelievable. That combo of salty and sweet is excellent.

Grilled veg and sausages. Not sure there's a better, easier summer weeknight meal.

    Homemade burgers.

Okay I gave smashed burgers a second try at home. This time I cooked them on the cast iron skillet outside over my grill because the first time it made such a mess, stunk up the house and set off all the smoke alarms

These little suckers were amazing. My wife said it was the best burger of her life.

I followed Serious Eats recipe, which IMO is the most trustworthy cooking website out there, and they don't fuck around with those stupid, overly long recipes full of backstory.

    Great job, GF!

Fried up a decent local-farm produce omelette this arvo. I like to beat the eggs until they are slightly fluffy. Stuffing is red pepper and parmesan cheese.

KFC for the first time in f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Amazing how good something can taste when you haven't had it in over a year

Leftover pizza. Made a cold fermented dough a few days early, then took it over to my parent's place and cooked it for my family for my dad's 65th bday. They have an Ooni Koda pizza oven that gets up to 900 degrees or something crazy so the pizzas cook in about 90 seconds. Turned out amazing, as good as any overpriced brick oven pizza place around here, maybe better.
