Same here. A lot of newer houses in Vancouver have wok (or stink) kitchens as they're called, with industrial ranges and a separate door behind the actual kitchen. My Indian and Chinese colleagues in particular have them because their food is particularly oily, or in the case of Indian cooking you tend to roast dry spices before adding fats/liquids to dishes which really smells up the place. Honestly it would be great. I don't bother making a few dishes because they stink up our little townhouse too badly.

yeah true, but I'm even talking about making eggs and bacon or sausage in the morning, too, stinks the whole first floor up. I could put a pull down blind in between my window-area in between kitchen & dining room area, but I'd still have to come up with something for the doorway. at least its not a super open floor plan, but my house is way too old for that shit
