Get ready, America–there is a third Olsen sister coming soon to a theater near you.
Elizabeth Olsen, the baby sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley, is receiving Oscar buzz for her turn in the indie thriller “Martha Marcy May Marlene.”
But with her twin sisters being celebrities since infancy, Elizabeth decided to have her film career follow a more low-key path.
“The paparazzi were really frightening,” the 22-year-old explains in the new issue of GQ. “I thought, Maybe I’ll just skip that part.”
The youngest Olsen sister trained with the Atlantic Theater Company, then went all the way to Russia to study acting, dialect, and stage combat.
Olsen, who falls prey to a cult leader in “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” had no problem getting naked for a pivotal scene.
“The movie wouldn’t have been as disturbing without it,” says the actress. “Taking away someone’s sexuality, making it something you don’t even own anymore—that’s the scariest thing.”
