    TV Pan Am

Pan Am is a television series centered around the iconic airline Pan American World Airways during the 1960s. The period drama, from writer Jack Orman (ER) and director Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing), focuses on the pilots and flight attendants working for the world-famous airline in 1963.

The series, produced by Sony Pictures Television, was picked up by ABC in May 2011 for the 2011–2012 television season.[1] Sony licensed the rights to the Pan Am name and logo from Pan Am Systems, a New Hampshire–based railroad company that acquired the Pan Am brand in 1998.[2]

The series premiered on September 25, 2011.

    Main cast
    Christina Ricci as Maggie Ryan
    Margot Robbie as Laura Cameron
    Michael Mosley as Ted Vanderway
    Karine Vanasse as Colette Valois
    Mike Vogel as Dean Lowrey
    Kelli Garner as Kate Cameron

The season premier really lived up to the hype, one of the few premiers I have watched that made me really want to tune in the next week. I can really see the potential for plot twist and drama. Really looking forward to this show developing over a few episodes.

    I'd have to agree, F.J.

I can just remember that era. In 1971 I was 6, and took a flight to Regina, SK from Toronto. The Air Canada stewardess looked very similar to the Pan Am outfits, but the skirt was much shorter...I remember this because this was the striking difference between these women who were serving us drinks and something to eat, and my Mother.

I remember the stewardesses' immaculately coiffed black hair, her wide smile and her very-cool French-Canadian accent (there was no one in my little town who spoke this way).

"This is like A&W without the car!" I said. My only other frame of reference of seeing young women in miniskirts serving food.

So this is what The World is like, I thought to myself...

OK, I'm not hooked (yet) but it was 45 minutes' worth of really good entertainment. I'll be sure to watch the next two or three episodes and see if I wanna follow it.
