IL 2 Sturmovik 1946, perhaps my favorite flight sim of all time.Primarily German and Russian planes from WW2, with some American stuff thrown in for fun.
Here I am taking a dive at 4 large B-17's...they have something like 6 gun positions, my bad
I was tagging the hell out of the guy on the far right, the tailgunner in turn, tore me a new arse
The realistic damage and models always blow me away....in this one you can see my shell casings from #1 machine gun
Every good pilot knows when to bail.Fully immersed in flames, no engine...it was my time
The sun sets on me, as I slowly descend into enemy territory
So I start up the mission again, ram the guy up the ass from behind and achieve this result....
ffs you can even see my canopy blown off in the explosion
Love the bail-out screens
I had more while he's sitting in the cockpit....fully immersed in flames
The way I've been flying lately I may map the spacebar as the bailout button....
I never really play many games tbh, any free time i have is normally spent here or watching tv.......... i'm pretty awesome at Super Mario on the SNES though
I'm still not devoting much time...probably about 2 hours/week now.Windows 7 is picky with games and that limits my enjoyment.
I look for open ended games like Oblivion, where you can build and save your progress and it really doesn't end.
Sturmovik has a rather robust full mission builder (worst interface on the planet, bar none ) It has so many levels of micromanagement, you can make planes and trains and truck convoys travel to different waypoints, at different times.
I've built my airport and have put 4 enemy planes in so far
Hey Jez? I'm making a little town in Finland, populating it with buildings, trucks and AA guns.....then I'm going to blow the shite out of every little Finn I see
Here's the full mission builder view, arrow points to my airport
this is still in the mission builder view
