Discussion Your thoughts: Occupy Wall Street

What do you guys think about this ordeal?

I personally think their hearts are in the right place, but I also think the wrong group of people are bitching about who's paying taxes.. I mean really... How many taxes do you think this crew of slackers sleeping in the street are paying?

As you already said, most (I'd bet upwards of 95%) of these 'protesters' don't even pay Federal income tax and then to hear the crap that comes out of their mouths? Makes me wish we could send in the tanks and mow them all down.

Over the weekend I saw somebody interviewing a chick down at the protests. He asked her if one of the CEO's of some company came down and offered her a $150K job if she would take it. She said no

I agree with them about jobs. No more, no less.

We need to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US, and stop importing every fucking thing from China, mexico, taiwan, korea, malaysia, etc.......

I wonder why no one in the 'main stream' ever hammers this?

    Uh oh... getting dangerous..

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Occupy Wall Street is on the move ... uptown.
Why uptown? Because that's where the rich folks live!
Community groups and progressive organizations that have been working with the broader Occupy Wall Street movement are planning a march on Tuesday that will visit the homes of JP Morgan Chase (JPM, Fortune 500) CEO Jamie Dimon, billionaire David Koch, hedge fund honcho John Paulson, Howard Milstein, and News Corp (NWSA, Fortune 500) CEO Rupert Murdoch.
The millionaires and billionaires are being targeted for what event organizers called a "willingness to hoard wealth at the expense of the 99%."

most of the manufacturing jobs that have been moved offshore are gone for good, I'd say. In a free market world, how are companies from the US or western europe to compete with the cost of labour in the developing nations? The only answer is to be more productive and efficient so labour costs will weigh in less on the end price of a given product.

Maybe it would also help to develop a certification for products that have been made under sustainable conditions, like they have for food over here. If people were more aware of the hidden cost of that cheap pair of denims made in Bangladesh orthat iphone produced by de-facto-slaves in china, they'd be willing to buy more expensive products knowing they are not based on explitation. but I am afraid most consumers will always go for the dirt cheap stuff and ask no questions...

Oh, and I think governments in the US and most of the EU should encourage massive investments into infrastructure because most of that money would be spent locally.
