how long does it take for you to get to work monk that seems a long way from where you live?
The flight on a Dash 8-300 is about 1 hour 40 minutes.
so are you based at the mine and go home at weekends or do you own a plane

The mining industry here in most places work a FiFo....fly in - fly out roster. You fly to site, work solidly until your roster ends then fly home for RnR.
I started on a 2 weeks on - 1 week off roster....then did a 9 days on - 5 days off for the last 9 years and just recently commenced a 8/6. I fly to work Wednesday morning, work 11- 12 hour days and fly out the following Wednesday evening.

i use to do a lot of away work over weekends etc and was given off days in the week i found the problem was my friends didn't want to go out for a beer mid week as they all had to work
