Snowstorm #1 is done, I still have to finish cleaning up my driveway and walks in preparation for Snowstorm #2 This weekend and possible Snowstorm #3 the following weekend. Many of the cities and suburbs have run out of road salt and their contract with the out of state supplier is not working out well at all (deliveries weeks behind schedule). Good thing they went with the cheapest bid, Eh?
At least you guys use road salt still, here in Colorado they use liquid de-icer which is nothing but shit. It only seemingly works (and just barely) when the temp is between like 30 and 31 degrees, anything colder and it turns to ice and makes the roads more dangerous. Not to mention the coating of brown slime it leaves on your vehicle that is almost impossible to wash off.
They use that too, typically before the snow flies. And yea, the stuff just seems to make things worse.
That's one thing I do miss about living in Vermont, they don't fuck around in the winter and they know how to take care of the roads. Well, at least they used to when I lived there, I guess it could have changed by now.
I have never ever been anywhere that deals with snow the way Colorado does. Half the time you would think this was Alabama or Mississippi the way they freak out every time it snows here.

Warmed up to a steamy -7° (-22C) so far
-4° right now, but it's actually supposed to warm up by 35 degrees or so today and make it above freezing....we'll see.
-2 here. We've been alternating between bitter cold and blizzards. Every time it warms into the 20's we get socked with snow.
The snow here is just flurries (a few inches expected between now and Monday) but the mountains are getting hammered. Hopefully the mountains hold the snow back because the accumulations expected in the high country this weekend is being measured in feet, not inches.
I just checked and it has warmed up to 22° in just a few hours since I've been here
