My sister lives on the west coast (out by GF) where the weather is better. There's a longstanding joke in our family that whenever she comes to visit us, she brings cold and snow. It's uncanny, we'll have a month of nice weather during the winter and then she visits and brings the storms.
She will arrive this Wednesday and leave after the weekend. Look at our forecast after months of heat
The worst is over here. It won't be effecting much around my way anymore. The storm has moved on. It's somebody else's problem now.
There's a shitload of debris that needs to be picked up. Probably on the roof of the house as well.

That's good to hear DGX. We've had some light wind storms here this summer and I can't imagine that scale of clean up.
It's not anywhere nearly as bad as what South Florida has to face, or those Caribbean Islands that got all torn up, so I guess I should be thankful. But it's still a pain in the ass.

My coworker telling me about being stuck in that Cuban hotel sounded like scary shit. She described catamarans being untethered from docks and flipping down the beach...she showed us a catamaran in a magazine to illustrate the size. She said 150 mph winds at her resort and they went up to 185.
Yeah, we didn't get anywhere near. Maybe up to 60-70 mph gusts with a 30-40 mph windspeed. Trees in the backyard are bent over.

Yeah we get a lot of tree shrapnel after wind storms because of the amount of foliage in our neighborhood. We had a summer storm this year where winds reached 60km/h (about 37 mph) and a section that was over 10 feet came down from our front tree. It was sitting on the street right in front of our house so I took it to the park behind the house and left it there ...at night

There's a tree in the woods behind my house that was bent in the storm. It's extended out over my yard. I don't know why, but two things pop into my head when I'm looking at it:
1) That's one limp-dick looking tree.
2) I bet Porky would really like this.

Closing in on the first frost of the season
You've got a thingy that shows the closest lightning strike to you in the last 30 minutes..
So when it says .000001 miles, you run like hell?
