It's been the same here this winter, it will go from below freezing to in the 50's like today. Up and down all winter long and it sucks. Just the other morning to start the week it was 8° (-13C) and now it's going to be almost 60° (16C) tomorrow.

I'll take fluctuations over what we had last winter. We set all of these odd records...most accumulation for a month, most days under 20C, most days without sun, most days with...winter.
It snowed badly in November 2017 and we didn't see pavement or grass until May 2018. It was a monochrome white world of Hoth for too long
We had a decent snow for the first time in awhile to start the week. I got about 10" at my house, but that's rare here anymore. Downtown Denver got 7" of snow and they said on the news that was the most snow from one storm that Downtown has received in more than 2 years. It used to snow like that here all the time when I first moved here.
Yeah that person I was telling you about who moved to Denver is constantly complaining about the cold, snow and driving there. She leased a GMC Terrain and now is making a big deal about how it's the shittiest AWD vehicle because she got stuck going up a long driveway in the snow. I want to shake people like that because in conditions where there's ice, and then snow falls on top of that, and you're on any sort of incline...not many vehicles make it up.
She figures the thing should have icepicks on the tires I suspect since she was born in Florida, lived in downtown NYC never driving there and then lived in LA for 10 years, she's never experienced any sort of winter driving scenarios.
I Can tell you she's full of shit too, it hardly snows here anymore at all And even when it does, the roads are usually clear by the end of the day because of the sun and the traffic on the roads. On Monday when we got that snow? It came in quick in the morning, dumped the 6 to 12 inches before lunch (depth varied depending on what part of the city you were in) and the roads were a mess, accidents everywhere and stupid drivers getting stuck. But by the time I went home at 2:30 in the afternoon? The highways were just wet, all the snow was gone off of them

I thought as much. When she started complaining to the point of getting out of her lease on a 2019 AWD Terrain...there are worse vehicles for sure.
I hate it here because of our shitty snow clearing city workers. We've had two big dumps this winter and during each we've had to shut down busy, internal roads within the city. That NEVER used to happen when I was a new driver years ago. We get warned about the snow usually three days in advance, the entire city prepares, except the snow removal crews.
Remember I told you about the Edmonton workers coming to help our crews. They have over 100 more vehicles and people and they live in the same sized city
I remember one day being at work getting a winter snow warning, everyone goes home early except me. I stop at the nearby gas station to work, pick up two chocolate bars, an extra pack of smokes, a drink and fill up with gas. Things I would never usually do driving home.
3 hours and 10 minutes later I'm stuck in traffic, chocolate bars and drink gone, smoking cigarettes like a guy facing a firing squad and I'm thinking - I may not make it home from work tonight
As people in Minnesota and NE America are finding, cold weather just tires a person out and seems to last forever.

It's going to get down to -9c/15f here this weekend and snow I think we're getting the tail end of that shit that hit Chicago. I can't remember the last time it was less the -1 here. We haven't had a real dump of snow in years.
Going to be near 60° today, absolutely ridiculous
Going from -6F on Wed-Thurs to 44F today.
It was 9 the other day, today it's -20. Our daytime high tomorrow will be 34 degrees lower than it was on Thursday.
Little bit of snow too.

Currently -30C ambient, who knows about the wind today because I ain't going out
It's miserable outside. It's been raining off and on all day. Haven't seen the sun yet. 59°F.

Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.
Ice storm tonight. First in a decade. I don't recall ever seeing a FEMA warning before.
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.
