Record high for the day is not the same as highest temperature ever. All-time record high in Denver, Colorado: 105 °F (41 °C) on August 8, 1878, July 20, 2005, June 25−26, 2012 and June 28, 2018
Wicked thunderstorms here. It knocked the power out for a few hours.

And the recent ones were all taken at DIA which is out in the middle of nowhere. Even though not official, it's hotter in the city itself.
And for the record, the hottest temp ever recorded in Colorado is 115° (46C) on July 20th, 2019 near the town of Lamar.

One day reprieve from the heat. A cold front moves in today with the high today only supposed to be 75° (24C) before back into the 80's and then the 90's.
Going to push 100° (38C). Record for Denver for the day is 102° (39C).
