It's because in the mountains you're closer to the sun... duh!

I have no idea how much rain fell this morning but my house was essentially an island. There was flowing water all around me.
My den, the lowest room in the house, started seeping water and I emptied the 14 gallon shopvac about 15 times before it stopped.
Expecting more rain this evening.

Broke 90° again today so we officially tied the record of most days above 90 for the year. 73 miserable days.
