Chilly this morning and it doesn't help that the wind is blowing approximately 394865729358067029367346 mph right now.

Ok I think I summoned a tornado to Vancouver.
Never in my life can I recall a tornado warning, I didn't think it was meteorologically possible here, but the other day I had a coworker from Ontario in town and he goes "How do you sleep at night knowing a huge earthquake could hit" and I go "how do you sleep at night knowing a tornado could throw you over a rainbow".
We laughed... but just days later we had a tornado warning this weekend. I had to double take at my phone when I saw the warning because it was too unreal to be true.
Look at this

I know what an American would say
Godfather (11-08-2021)
After hitting a record high on Saturday of 80° (27C) and mid 70's on Friday and yesterday, back to more seasonable stuff this week.
I watched the video. That certainly was a tornado. I didn't know y'all could get tornadoes up there either, Godfather. That certainly puts a damper on my idea of avoiding that crap by moving to the northern midwestern states.

A week or two ago we had a 'bomb cyclone' with wild rain and wind. This weekend we have an 'atmospheric river' with 150mm of rain hitting some parts of the city. This feels like the rainiest fall I can ever remember.
Unfortunately, the atmospheric river will stall and funnel into the Fraser Valley, bringing monthly rainfall totals in a day. I don't see how we escape a major flood event. Updates to come. #BCFlood #BCStorm pic.twitter.com/U56PQwZnWT

Well this is a damn mess. Tons of highway closures from washouts (keep in mind how much rain we're already used to). Canadian Forces evacutating cars stuck on the highway near Kelowna. Big chunk of Princeton BC is underwater. The town of Merrit BC with 7000 people is being evacuated. A barge just washed up on the seawall in Vancouver, thankfully it didn't take out a bridge or something. Such a shit show.
Some tweets of the fun
The Lower Mainland is effectively cut off from the rest of British Columbia and Canada as Highway 99 is the latest closure with a mudslide reported. BCFlood #BCStorm pic.twitter.com/yGI057NUYG

Holy shit! I hope you and all you know stay safe.
How well prepared are you in case you lose utilities? Got enough food, a way to stay warm?
Unbelievable!!
Hope you are doing okay GF!
Meanwhile here, it's been hovering right about 70° (21C) here for the last 4 days. Ridiculous for mid-November.
