$400 of new camping gear. Planning to take our new pup fall camping so he's good to go next Summer but needed some new gear for camping in the rain and cold. Got a bunch of stuff on season end sales too.

That's about how it is here too. Got a campsite booked on Vancouver Island and the forecast is bleak but we'll just play cards, sip whiskey and have a big fuckin' fire. Should be good.

We stayed at Redstreak Campground in Kootenay National Park on our way home from Jasper. Beautiful country up there.

Treated myself to the new Oculus Quest 2. $399 (probably cheaper in USD) and it's blowing my fucking mind. I've tried VR units that cost more than triple this price but never bought one myself because of the price and need for a high end PC, but the tech is now far more affordable, and does not require a PC - the oculus store is full of great games and experiences completely wirelessly.

The resolution is extremely high and the controllers work wonderfully. You can grip and grab things, you can play shooting games and actually aim down sight and reload mags and all that like a real weapon. It has built in speakers and a mic to play with friends over the internet.

I could go on and on but you really just have to try it to get it. Been playing some silly games that are hilarious, or even just watching youtube on a giant screen that takes up your entire field of vision is a blast.

My wife and I tried this one game that's kind of like ultimate frisbee in zero gravity... I just about fell over at first. You definitely have to get past the motion sickness and ease into it, but the experience is unreal. Too much fun... highly recommend.

Next up might be a Wolftone "Meaner" dogear p90, unless I can find a good deal on a oem Gibson p90.
Really depends on how the stock pickup sounds once I can adjust the height with the shim pack.

I like them both ways, there is nothing wrong with eating them roasted with a bit of hot sauce, maybe some parm and a little bacon on them..Savory..! The liquor turns in to an oyster soup.. so good.!
