I got mad at my 3.99 baking sheet because it warped, had stains until my sister clued me in that most of them were close to being disposable

You live in a different world than me and I realize that. My next great purchase will be a set of plastic measuring cups that have indelible measurements on them.

*your pans look good and will probably last a long time

It's the same world, that was a lot of fucking money to pull the trigger on

We have those cheap-ass baking sheets too. You can here them 'pop' in the oven sometimes when they twist out of shape.

I remember when someone came to our place and gave a cookware demo. The cooked an entire meal for us Non stick and 'waterless' cookware was the attraction. My parents were impressed and bought into it, and I believe we still had some of the pieces right up until my Dad passed, which was probably about 45 years. They were black.

You still had to use some water I recall but the pans did last a long, long time.
AllClad is some of the best cookware you can buy.

I think you made a good call splurging a bit for higher end stuff. God knows what the cheap non-stick shit is leaching into our food. That shit makes me nervous and it scratches just when you stack it in your cupboards. If you're going to go non-stick, spend decent coin like you did. Wife and I bought a $200 non-stick 10-piece set from Cambodian Tire when we first moved in together and it did not hold up well at all.

Non-stick definitely has its place. I use cast iron for searing (I maintain you can't make Mexican without cast iron), carbon steel for my wok, but non-stick for stuff that's going to simmer, eggs, rice, any sticky junk really. With the new technology you can even use metal utensils with some of the high end non-stick sets.

    I'm a bit of a cookware dork.

Funny enough, we have some higher end cookware. Non of it is non stick. Other than a made in US pizza/cookie pan. We have various cast iron skillets and Dutch oven types, all pots are heavy gauge aluminum.

We have two large cast iron frying pans already. For some things, there's nothing better than a good old fashioned cast iron frying pan

And with that teflon coating that flakes off on the cheaper stuff? Just tell everyone it's fresh ground pepper.

Bought some dumb stuff on Prime Day

    - New headphones for my PC - HyperX Cloud II's... even though I hardly game anymore
    - Carwash kit/bucket/shammy set that was 30% off
    - Douvet covers that were about half off which the wife liked
    - Thermos beer can insulator for the golf bag
    - Some new Under Armour workout shirts
    - Erasable Pilot Pens that were on sale (they're actually awesome, not like the old erasable pens from when I was a kid)

EHX Soul Food pedal. Off of Reverb. Mint condition. 2 people had it in their cart when I looked at the listing 10 minutes ago, and I've been keeping an eye on it for like 2 weeks. I was hoping to wait a week or 2 longer but whatever. I wasn't gonna let somebody else buy it. Great price from a decent seller that I've been buying from for the past year and a half. Pitbull Audio. He's on Reverb and Ebay. One of my go-tos when I want guitar stuff.

    Soap... 20 bars

Amazon had it for the same price per bar as Sam's Club. And that's cheaper than Walmart and everybody else around here, so why the hell not?
