Teh One Who Knocks (03-06-2023)
Bought a Sonos soundbar and mini-subwoofer. I'd just been using the tv speakers which frankly suck and crackled on the low end (started shortly after the warranty expired which was not great). Movies sound great and even watching something like sports is way more immersive with good bass, should've done this years ago. Having a wireless sub that I didn't have to run cables across the room to was a huge perk too. Might have to add rear speakers for full surround now.
My biggest complain with sonos was the lack of Bluetooth, I hate there app and having to run your apps through their app. Although spotify does seems to work directly. Not being able to play youtube on my outside speakers sucks.
My understanding is this is or has been added in the latest models.

I've had 2 soundbar/ sub combos. A Bose (not a top of line, but it was very blah) and current top line Samsung. The Samsung is pretty decent, but imho lacks the bass I'd expect.
I miss my 7.1 onyko surround system. That thing kicked ass, but the wife hated having speakers everywhere.

You know what's funny is my prior speaker I had in the main room was Bluetooth only which is partly why I wanted to upgrade (granted it was an older Bluetooth that didn't connect as well as the new stuff). I love just walking in the door now and saying Hey Alexa, play __ on spotify. I'm going to use that way more than bluetooth now.
But you're right, it does also play through Bluetooth on these most recent versions and it's nice to have both for sure.

Getting the house painted and the deck resurfaced. Just paid the down payment. Total cost is gonna be right around $5500.

That's not outrageous, depending on size of deck. I recently checked into redoing tops of mine with synthetic wood (treated wood only last 10 years or so here for some reason) it was gonna be right at $2200 for materials and me doing labor. My front deck is 10x32,with 2 ea 48" steps, and a 48" x 20' ramp.

It's only costing you $1k more to paint your house, than the estimates I've received to paint my car. And that's not counting the 10% off. With the 10% off, to paint your house, it's only costing you around $400-$500 more.

Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.
