break in instructions for the new car...
no sudden stops
no constant speeds
no fast acceleration
so I take the bus instead?
One nice thing....threw some MP3's on a flash drive, plugged it in and the car audio knew the device and started playing the tunes instantly
500 miles? Really? What's the logic behind that?

I was taught when I was younger that you should change oil in a rebuilt/new engine or a new car at 500 miles due to initial wear of bearings etc. Every vehicle I've ever bought new has had more than 200,000 miles on it, and the engines I built never spun bearings. Though I have holed a block or two and broken several pistons.
One thing I find interesting, is that my wife's car came from the factory with full synthetic oil, yet the recommended interval is still 3,000 miles. I've always changed synthetic at 6,000 to 7,000 miles.
