Good pizza places are all over my area back home, still looking for something decent here down south.
Usually I go with either Papa John's or Dominos when we get chain pizza. But when I put the order in my cart at Papa John's first, it was almost exactly the same price. Although I think with Papa John's they may have been large pies instead of medium.

$20 US for 2 medium pizzas here ( and good ones too)

I think I'll stick with Little Caesars.

So why are they doing it. Genuine response to inflation, or are they trying their luck?

Or can most people afford this?

I don't honestly know. They'd claim inflation, but without seeing the prices of supplies, how could you really tell?

If people weren't buying the pies at those prices, the prices would fall back down or they'd go out of business, so obviously people are paying the prices.

It had been well over a year since we last ordered pizza and it might be another year before we do it again.

Maybe they are holding that price and happy to sell less pies at higher cost.

Agreed though, some people can afford that - or are prepared to pay it.
