I hate to tell you this Joey but posting in a blue font is not what i would call 'easing in quietly' To begin with at AS i thought you were a troll and i'm sure i wasn't the only one.......

If a new person comes in says thanks in 20 different porn threads, I tend not to converse with them.Not a stuck up ideology, just that I don't frequent those sections very much

btw I think that thanking is cool in any forum.And if there's one thing I've learned about forum posting over the past 6 years, it's that it does take some courage to come into gen chat or the news section and start rattling off opinions.
I do it without thinking (fuck off )...but some folks are shy and worry that they're not saying 'the right thing'.

I send PM's to newbies and try to encourage them. Mostly, I think I just waste my time PM'ing spammers.

It is a big leap though.. I lurked at AS for 6 months. Then I was doing a paper on some British political issue and I thought it would be cool to actually ask British people what they thought, so I joined and never looked but

I did post about some of my past blue font adventures, I told you guys about that over at AS.

Some of the best forums I've ever posted at where ones where NOBODY made reference to my blue font, ever. Nobody thought anything about it or cared. Total non issue.

Sometimes I stumble across forums where people routinely post in various colors. Nearly makes me orgasm.

I believe it ... the internet would be a very different place for me if I wasn't a member somewhere. It's like having a home in the arctic. People must get bored of the net when they haven't got any real personal connections aside from email. Porn, lolcats and flash games can't entertain you long.

At AS a few people accused me of being Joey and vice versa.I don't know how though....my style is sloppy and from the hip, Joe's is more concise, well worded and insightful.It's apparent to me that Blue balls puts a certain amount of thought, time and care into his 18 paragraph monstrosities

I, on the other hand like to post in 5 threads simultaneously and fast...in fact if no one is posting and I've been here for more than 20 minutes laying down drivel, I log off

Cool, fair points, i'm just expressing my own opinion on how i saw/see it AS was the first forum i really got into (in a posting sense) and since then 99.9% of posters ive seen on any forum have posted using the forum's generic font/colour....... in fact, i cant think of anyone else who regularly posts using a coloured font on any board i frequent other than yourself......... which is my point

In 2005 I was linked to AS and read Crotchsnot's (legendary)and Toonie's posts primarily.Then it was to gen chat and I read Hami's, Spartacus' and Trof's daily posts.It amazed me that it was like a community, saying hello every morning and chatting about that day's events.

When I finally joined I went balls out and strangely enough ended up in the basement of all things at AS.Drow, Webby, Gumbydammit..all took me under their wing.When I finally emerged into gen chat it was Godfather and Gman all the way Cheaptrick was being an ass and I stuck up for GF becoming a mod...the night crew were some pretty fond posting memories for me.
