okay now.....arrows along the bottom of pic was my old commute. It bordered our downtown area start to finish...nice drive in the summer.
1. Is a new pedestrian bridge they built costing over 23 million. Three years of construction and traffic hell along a major city route.
2, 3. Are bridges with pedestrian walkways. They are approximately a four minute walk from the new bridge.
4,5,6,7,8 are all bridges with pedestrian sidewalks...number 7 bridge is a two tier construction with pedestrian walkways on both levels.
Point is...all of these bridges lead into our downtown core. After much discussion at City Council, they decide to spend on the new pedestrian bridge (no vehicles), rather than snow removal, or fixing the roads, or outreach shelters for the homeless...and the beat goes on.
WHY? Because of the area I've marked as Trendy Hipsterville....all restaurants and living accommodations are 'hip', new and expensive. And the little darlings needed a bridge to make the trek into downtown.
