To be fair, only FBD was mentioned and tagged with the rep about 'over' posting anti-Obama material. But I think you all forget that a large portion of people here (Americans) posted anti-Obama rhetoric to the point I was getting sick of it. It appeared in every thread from news to pics, and bled into other threads as some sort of backhanded speaking point for all problems American. 'Blame Obama' was not just a meme, it existed here daily. If you disagree that's fine, but I post over the fence from a place of love and neutrality at the same time. I often speak for Americans and support them. What is now happening with Trump, y'all perpetrated the same thing with Obama. As is your right...
Lance was super fair about trying to reel in FBD's posts on Obama, while not liking Obama himself. That takes some neutrality in the poisonous world of politics. But reading some of the responses to the recent Aussie posts remind me of other subjects that instantly become verboten.
It's hard not to comment on Trump when the person acts the way he does. That's not a slam against his policy, it's an observation about a person who is fairly flamboyant in both opinion and how he handles himself on social media. He is a Type A personality with imperfections, doing arguably the most important job in the world, and is often unashamed of what he says or to who. Again, not a bad thing, but it is something relatively new in that forum and it invites comment or scorn or ridicule or support, depending on the day and the observer.
I guess there is the Trump thread and us non Americans have to put our wtf and sarcastic reactions to him there. I'll be frank. I get scared to bring up one of his faux pas or press gaffs (and he has made more than one...), because it feels like our relationship will be threatened because I made an observation about your president. It's not like I'm critiquing you personally because he said something like grab women by the pussy...

Fair enough. I would argue that we normally took shots at Obama over policy and decision making, but it did include his condescending attitude. I don't like that crap in Trump either. Appreciate the honesty. Yes there were other things like his heritage, questions thereof, and the mere fact he was black that came under fire often, but yes it was mostly a sarcastic barrage against his policy and left leaning choices. You know what I'm saying by not saying. We all should have to right to unload
