We Aussies have always called the Brits POMs or Pommies. There are various ideas of its origin but one I prefer is it relates to when the English sent the transportees to Australia, they were referred to as POMS - Prisoner of Mother England.....

The Americans referred to the English as "Limeys".... something to do with the fact in the sail going era of ocean travel, the English took limes on board to ward off scurvy.
