Generally speaking, people who "relic" a guitar, pro or amateur, tend to overdo it and make it look like shit instead of naturally distressed, which is what older guitars tend to look like. I've no interest in relicing any of my other guitars. This was bought as a fender "road worn" series. I wanted it because of the color, the finish (nitro) and the neck profile (deep C, almost a 50s style neck). The Keefe joint relic was on a lark. Tbh, I dont care if this one gets more beat up. It will anyway. I'm not gonna do any intentionally, but imho, its a MIM tele. It's never gonna be worth anything to anyone but me. My Les Paul on the other hand, already has a couple scratches in it, and it bugged me at first. It's also nito finished, so its gonna age and wear, but I'm okay with that. The purple tele that I was building was to imitate a specific guitar. The MIM is close enough. At any rate, I fully understand DGX opinion, and can sorta agree, but these are mine, lol
