Whenever I see someone holding a cat up close to their face I get uneasy. I'm always waiting for the cat to lash out and scratch the person holding them.

No, not really. I don't mind cats, per se. I have no problem petting cats or letting them jump up in my lap. I'm just acutely aware of how quickly they can become overstimulated and that's when they lash out. I see a lot of people picking cats up and cuddling them when it's clear the cat has had enough. And from watching Jackson Galaxy, I can see the signs of overstimulation from a mile away, but it seems like everybody else ignores them, especially little kids.

I love that show. My wife turns it on on Saturday morning and more often than not, the cat watches it with her.
