I may or may not have done something very similar when the fuel pump went out on my 03 Dodge Ram. Iirc, I used a Jack stand on the frame to the bed. Apparently, when the fuel pump goes out on the Camaro, the easiest thing to do is cut a hole in the floorboard under the rear seat. Yeah, I won't be doing that. Too easy to drop the exhaust and driveshaft, then drop the tank.

Chevy didn't build in a removable panel? Many cars do have one under the seat for access.

The truck bed falls down on top of you. Damned gravity. iirc,the bed was only bolted to the frame with 6 bolts.

Tbh, if I hadn't just filled the tank, I'd have just dropped the tank on the Dodge. I didnt feel like dealing with 180-200lbs though.
