Funny that no bowl matters until the final 4, I was just reading on wikipedia how the number of bowls has increased from just a couple to like 40?

I saw something about a poll too... that seems so bizarre. There must be controversy when teams with the same records don't make it eh? Have they talked about making it more just based on straight records/stats ever? That's so foreign to any other sport I follow.


Maybe I'll try following the Oregon Beavers this year. My sister in law is down there so I could probably get to a game. Looks like they're pretty awful but could be fun to follow.

it actually usually ends up with the top 4 teams in the country, although #5 will always be upset and say their place is justified. i think it would be better going to 8, but that is unlikely to happen. the ncaa basketball championship is similar, it's just there they have 64 teams competing instead of 4

Ya my SIL is at OSU in vet school so it's the Beavers... they're real bad But getting to a game would be unreal, seeing a live college football game is on my bucket list.

Keenum didn't look horrible yesterday, of course anything is an upgrade over what we had last year, but the 3 picks he threw were a bit concerning. He did also have 3 TD's and over 300 yards passing, so maybe we'll just chalk it up to opening day jitters for a brand new team. Jury is out.

Back then, students got 2 free tickets to every home game, but you had to wait in line all fucking day on a Thursday at the ticket box at Bobby Dodd stadium from the crack of dawn to get them. That means, you were either skipping class, or you had a buddy system with a bunch of people to trade off waiting in line while you went to class, and ultimately you all got your two tickets at the same time. It was bullshit. I didn't want to do it. And they wouldn't just set them aside for me on account of my disability. Whatever. Assholes.

That's too bad, I get that they have dollar signs in their eyes but really it should be about getting students to games.

Why is that surprising? The Jags are a good team and they should have beaten the Patriots in the AFC championship game last year.
