    Coaches fired (So far!):

    Todd Bowles, New York Jets
    Adam Gase, Miami Dolphins
    Vance Joseph, Denver Broncos
    Dirk Koetter, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    Marvin Lewis, Cincinnati Bengals
    Steve Wilks, Arizona Cardinals

Plus Hue Jackson (Browns) and Mike McCarthy (Packers) - previously dismissed during the season.

The Raiders hired NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock as the new GM. Okay. Fun fact, his wife and daughters are smoking hot.

Also fun fact, Bernie Kosar's daughter is a porn actress that goes by the name Lexxi Silver.

The Broncos are a shit show right now, I don't know who would want to step in and take this head coaching position.

CBS Sports says right now the best open coaching position is with Cleveland because of Baker Mayfield.

Whine Miami Dolphins' Robert Quinn complains about lack of coverage for his protest during national anthem

By Ryan Gaydos | Fox News

Colin Kaepernick has received a ton of publicity for his protests during the national anthem, but he can't seem to find a job in the NFL. Miami Dolphins defensive end Robert Quinn has the opposite problem.

Quinn lashed out at reporters Thursday over the lack of coverage he’s received over his fist-raised protest during the national anthem, something he's done since joining the Dolphins in the offseason, according to the Miami Herald.

“Y’all ignore it. Because when I gave my first message on trying to bring unity, y’all swept it under the rug. It’s not me. When you don’t give a problematic story, y’all just ran away,” Quinn said.

“You’ve got this lady named Cyntoia Brown, or whatever her name is, and you sent her to life in prison because she was being sex trafficked,” he said, referencing a woman who was sentenced to life in prison for a murder she committed when she was 16. “But yet you guys dipped.”

The Miami Herald and Sports Illustrated both profiled Quinn's activism and why he protests in the name of perceived racial injustice. He was asked about it by the Herald after the Dolphins acquired him.

“The way America was built, and the way people talk. The president said to build a wall to keep Mexicans out. This country was built off of — they killed Indians, built off the backs of the blacks,” he told the newspaper in April. “So yet, they tell us to keep quiet. So at the end of the day, let’s confront the situation and let’s bring humanity and friendship and let’s get rid of all the ignorance. Let’s face it head-on, let’s look at each other as humans. I always live by this one law: Treat each other like you want to be treated. You don’t ever want to smack someone in the face and don’t expect to get smacked back. It’s just that simple fact. Don’t treat someone bad and expect not to be treated the same way. That’s just how it is.”

He vowed to Sports Illustrated he wouldn't stop protesting during the anthem "until they get rid of me."

Quinn's teammates Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson have also protested during the national anthem this season.

Obvious Al Michaels throws hands up at controversial call: NFL just making it up

By Joseph Staszewski - New York Post

Even Al Michaels couldn’t believe what he just saw as a bizarre Sunday of NFL officiating continued.

On a second-down play late in the second quarter from the Eagles’ 35-yard line, Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw a deep pass down the right side to Anthony Miller. The receiver appeared to have control of the ball and took three steps before defender Cre’von LeBlanc stripped the ball loose near the Eagles’ 5-yard line. The ball was out before Miller hit the ground.

The closest official called the play dead, waving his arms as if to say it was an incomplete pass, causing both teams to ignore the free ball and walk back to the original line of scrimmage.

After a booth review, referee Tony Corrente said the ruling was that the play would be considered an incomplete pass because there was no clear recovery. It became third down, and the Bears were given the ball back. So, had a player jumped right on the ball, it would have been ruled a catch.

The outcome baffled Michaels, his broadcast partner Cris Collinsworth and NFL rules expert Terry McAulay in the NBC booth.

Michaels, who has been calling NFL games for more than two decades, jokingly asked McAulay, “They’re not making this up on the fly, are they?”

McAulay answered: “It does seem that way.”

A tweet from NFL officiating head Al Riveron said that while the play should have been ruled a catch, because it was called incomplete the crew was correct on its ruling after the review.

“In #PHIvsCHI, the receiver controlled the ball with two feet down & took an additional step, so it was a catch,” Riveron wrote. “However, because he was not down by contact & there was ‘no video evidence of a clear recovery or the ball going out of bounds’, the ruling of incomplete stands.”

That play came after a ruling of a non-fumble by Chargers running back Melvin Gordon negated a scoop-and-score and helped change the momentum of Los Angeles’ eventual 23-17 win over the Ravens in an AFC wild-card game earlier in the day.

The cornerback stripped the ball after the refs had ruled the pass complete. That ball is live and the refs cause the play to end by whistling it down.

Their 'no one made a play for it' BS is mystifying.

You're getting an interesting character. He's 60, and no media darling. Vic says what Vic wants to say - and not very subtly. I think he's hilarious, but it might take some getting used to, he's a little caustic.

Brilliant defensive mind, one of the all-time greats. He'll need a very strong offensive coordinator.

The Broncos have definitely bucked the trend (pun intended) with that hire.

With that said, fuck you for taking our defensive mastermind away.

He points to the sky and prays after misses (and after successful kicks). Apparently hitting the posts is God's plan for him.
