Obama will not win in 2012. I think Cain, Newt, or Romney could beat him. I would prefer Ron Paul as the Republican candidate but the deck is stacked against him.
As for the political machine, a former House member (a one term guy) said his primary job was to raise funds and that it ate up most of his day. Between taking calls from donors and seeking out new ones there wasn't much time to do anything else. He wrote a long article about it but I can't remember his name right now.
Now that Obama has a record to run on, there's no way he's going to win the general election. Newt or Cain will tear him apart in a debate to such an extent it will be rather laughable, if indeed the bar is held in the same spot for both sides of that one.
The only reason people are still mentioning Romney's name is because he's the "preferred" establishment R & "acceptable" MSM candidate.
“We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — ‘Well, people would want to come here’ — and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America,” [Obama] told the CEOs who are gathered on the sidelines of the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings, which the United States is hosting this year in Hawaii.
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.
Oh please don't let Herman get anywhere near Whitehouse...
you dont like pizza?
and what might a locality do to attract business, Mr Obama?
Subsidies? Regulation that favors the group of people sitting right in front of you at the time you announce it? More welfare? Tax the people that "make all the money?"
Sounds like a sustainable municipal model to me
