Yep, 5 innings, 1 hit, no ER, no BB, 12 Ks. Pure Fire.

Also, the ESPN announcers say some seriously stupid shit on those Sunday night games.

Jason Heyward is one of the best fastball hitters in MLB? The rooftops across the street from Wrigley field are the premier seats?

After Bote's Slam to win the game...

    ESPN: are you going out?
Bote: Just going to get some rest and enjoy the day off tomorrow
E: What are you going to eat?
    B: I don't think I could eat right now
E: Where are you going to go to eat?
B: Im sure I'll just eat at home.

Yes, ESPN, the humble unassuming Christian Missionary with 2 small kids and a supportive wife at home is going to go tear the town up, you tone deaf motherfuckers.
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.

I honestly think to be a sports reporter, a requirement is that you must be stupid/ignorant just by judging the questions they ask athletes.

And this was just a regular season game, it wasn't game 7 of the World Series FFS, sure it was a great moment, but in the grand scheme of things it was one game out of 162.

Well, but you like to point out that the cycle is more rare than the no-hitter... what he did last night?

And 2 outs, and 2 strikes, and a rookie, and a pinch hitter....

Ben Zobrist unleashed the perfect burn on an umpire to land his first-ever ejection

Firsts can be few and far between deep into MLB careers.

But Chicago Cubs utility player Ben Zobrist, a 16-year veteran of the League, managed to snag one. He had never been ejected, at any level of professional baseball, ever – that’s 1,562 game in the majors alone – until the ninth inning of the Cubs vs. Brewers game Tuesday afternoon.

The mild-mannered 37-year-old couldn’t hold his anger in any longer after home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi made a couple of questionable strike calls throughout the game. So in the ninth inning, he unleashed the most Ben Zobrist burn of all-time, getting him booted.

Zobrist told Cuzzi: “That’s why we want electronic strike zones.” And that was that.

I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.

    BoSox win again. wow.

And the A's are 1.5 games behind Houston? What? The Astros have lost 5 straight. The A's have already surpassed the Vegas over/under for season wins. Shit's getting real! (not real enough for anyone to attend and A's game, but still)

As a followup to the David Bote story.. I thought this was amazing.

They live near Wrigley. His wife after watching her husband hit the historic grand slam, walked out on their balcony to listen to the crowd roar at Wrigley Field.

The next morning, their 2.5 year old, who had slept through the excitement was shown the video. She was scared because those boys were beating up dad and tearing his clothes. "Are you okay, dad?" "will they get you a new sweater?"

    Awwwwwwww...

I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.

Not to mention the fact that the Mariners are only 4-1/2 back oh Houston now too. It's nice to see that some divisions still have pennant races going.

And speaking of pennant races, just a little bench clearer last night in the Giants/Dodgers game.

“When I missed the pitch, I knew I thought it was the best pitch that Watson was gonna throw me,” Puig told reporters through a translator after the game. “So I was a little upset, and [Hundley] told me to stop complaining, get back into the box. And when I got in his face, he told me to also get out of his face. So that's when I got upset.

"I didn't like that he was telling me what to do, and then he said some words to me in English that I really can't repeat,” Puig added. “So that is why I was upset.”

I still don't see a punch. I have yet to see a single punch in a baseball game this year. Puig's little pussy shove is about as close as it's gotten. C'mon, man!
