The Cubs' Rizzo is guaranteeing the Cubs take their division this year. Those kinds of declarations usually don't bode well.
The Astros traded for the Braves' Evan Gattis and a few others. It looks like they're gonna try and take a run at a pennant. The Braves have unloaded all of their power hitters, so they're pretty much gonna suck this year. A lot of players have been moving around.

No, but usually those declarations are reserved for the locker room. Like I said, you spew that junk to the media, it's bad news. I've seen tons of players across many sports declare they're gonna win and then lose. Only one time in my 39 years have I seen such a brazenly open declaration actually come true: Mark Messier leading the Rangers to the Stanley Cup in '94.

Cub's convention. You're reading too much into it.
But point taken.
