Because the NHL is now, for the most part, filled with skirt wearing pansies and the rules are made to keep it that way.I love that about the NHL these day, nobody knows how to take a hit, even when it's a totally 100% clean legal hit the other team gets all pissed off and wants to fight you
Another interesting problem that Brendan Morrison was talking about the other day was how there's way too much coaching in the NHL. You know that if you make any little mistakes, you're going to get singled out and ragged on by the coaches the next day. Your minutes will be cut for doing anything ballsy or risky. So the end result is a LOT of muzzled talent
That's not to say it won't make a winning hockey team, but it's that wide up, end to end, risk-taking shit that makes the CHL and NCAA hockey so awesome.

Its about the winter classic, 2 locations 2 rinks, NHL, AHL, OHL, Collegiate tournament and H.S games. Toronto vs Detroit w/ minor league affiliates playing each other as well.
