Oh damn, Sami Pahlsson is a Canuck. That's partly what we needed, good two way hockey, little bit of grit too. And he has two cups under his belt.

Oh my god Zack Kassian to Van for Cody Hodgeson... that sucks balls. Hodgeson was awesome, looked like our future and he was loved by his teammates.@BuffaloSabres - Sabres trade Zack Kassian to Vancouver for Cody Hodgson; ALSO - M-A Gragnani to Vancouver for Alexander Sulzer
Kassian is supposed to become a Milan Lucic, but Hodgeson is having a tremendous year - a difference maker on a top NHL team (16 goals) Kassian has 3 goals, totally unproven... We didn't get enough for him. There has to be more to this trade that our GM knows

I'm honestly shocked the Sabres traded Kassian, I bet he does a lot better with Vancouver..
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson
Good to hear. People here in Van just blew up on Facebook and Twitter Hodgeson looks like a franchise player, eventual Captain, 50 goal scorer, and this year a Calder candidate.
A Lucic-style player in Kassian just doesn't fit Vancouver's system right now. Eastern teams all emulate Boston with grit and toughness but Western teams like Van try to emulate Detroit with finesse and speed. This trade is bizarre to me. It's like we're looking ahead to a series with Boston already... but that's 3 very, very tough rounds of playoff hockey away.
Strange trade. Wish I had a crystal ball
I guess the Rick Nash sweepstakes will have to wait til the offseason, as most predicted
I am fixed

Sometimes I wake up and feel like I cannot face the day. But someday I'll wake up and realize that waking up is pretty stupid because it just makes you feel like crap."
Yeah that'll be one uncomfortable locker room for the rest of the season, given he was the one who asked for a trade and created some bad blood
Can't blame him though... he's 28, guy doesn't want to stick around for another Blue Jackets rebuild and have his best years gone doing dick all.
He asked the GM himself without saying anything which is the right thing to do (not like Heatley did and tell the medias.) Howson just said on TV that Nash asked for a trade...could be a few ugly months for them in the future
well it makes for them, wait til the offseason when more teams are willing to deal and maybe his price will be driven up by competition

I'm still in shock we traded away Hodgson. What a day...
Here's a take on the trade from a 'Nucks blog:

Thanks lance, I like that write up. Lots of great points.
