Perhaps... but that was 16 years ago... The Canadian dollar was brutal, Quebec couldn't afford the rise in player salaries, english coverage of games was shotty.
They'd have to be a better market than Phoenix... maybe even the Avs The rest of the Canadian teams have 100% attendance now, games are a public affair these days.
I am fixed
"Somedays I wake up and feel like nobody loves me. Other days I wake up and feel like I love nobody. Sometimes I wake up and feel tired, and worn out. Sometimes I wake up and feel like I cannot face the day. But someday I'll wake up and realize that waking up is pretty stupid because it just makes you feel like crap."
Teams for contraction/relocation: Phoenix, Florida, Tampa, Nashville, Anaheim, Atlanta, Carolina
That sounds about right (the Kings do have good attendance thogu)... Florida and Texas especially don't need three teams between the two of them It's summer there all year 'round and they and the Ducks have puddles in their arenas most of the time.
Man can you imagine how the play of the league would improve if it was cut down to 24 or 26 teams That'd be really cool to see... every team would pick up a couple decent players and lose fringe guys. It'd be interesting to watch.

And if you guys are gonna give QC a team back, then Hartford definitely gets a team back
The Whale > Nordiques
And Quebec City no way has 7 million people
again
Denver has 4 million, QC is not twice the size of Denver
Yeah QC has like a million on a good day
Metro Hartford: 1,188,241
Quebec City metro: 715,515
Therefore, Hartford gets a team
I'd bring back both...happy? ..........sadly its not me that takes the decision (The Jets too)
Yeah but 'metro' is a lot different than the people close enough in the city to go to 42 games. Metro can extend hours of driving from one end to the other. The city is important too.
City: Hartford, Connecticut 124,060
City: Quebec City, Quebec 491,142
As density, Harford is 1/7th as dense
Quebec 1,081.2/km2 Hardford 7,025.5/sq mi (from wikipedia)
And why would you give them back a team As a city they're only the 199th largest in the USA.... Does anyone care about hockey there? Because in Quebec they're driving to NYC by the thousands to get their team back
Fact is, when Hardford left they were barely getting 10k people at a game. Quebec was still getting almost 15k even with the Canadian Dollar being .73 or whatever it was

And add the whole "Habs vs Nordiques" rivalry...extra $$$ there
