I wonder if anyone bet on that, and what the odds would've been... as much as I root against the Oilers, it's honestly sad to see for McDavid. They have no depth, and this offseason it looks like depth scorers are going to get over-paid so I have no idea how they'll address it.

- Leafs haven't won a round since 2004...
- They had an Amazon Prime documentary crew following them this season because it was 'supposed to be their year'
- Earlier in the pandemic, Leafs fans penned letters to PM Trudeau begging him to ease pandemic restrictions to allow fans in the building for the finals. THE FINALS

And the thing was, with the way the divisions were set up this year, a trip to the 3rd round was basically gift wrapped with a bow for the Leafs. They were far and away the best team in that whole division. But then of course the playoffs started and then they remembered, "hey wait, we're the Leafs, we don't win playoff series!" and they piss away a 3-1 series lead to a very, very average (at best) Habs team.Originally Posted by Godfather
