Rogers Arena has 18k and change and it has sold out years straight. Don't know why they didn't just make it 20-25k. Would have been a lot cheaper to do it then and it sure would be nice to have a less corporate crowd

I wish I knew Spanish.
Manny Malhotra has been cleared by doctors to play.... as a sports fan in general that's thrilling, as a Canucks fan it's phenomenal.
Two months ago we thought he'd never play again, maybe lose the eye. This is miraculous, so happy for him, his family and his teammates
Manny gets pretty choked up near the end.... pretty emotional experience I'm sure. That eye is still kinda scary though

Also interesting there are 2 euro-captains in the final.... when was the last time that happened? Think European captains have only won the cup a handful of times, and this year it's a guarantee! Cool
BREAKING NEWS!!! () True North Sports (The new owners of the Jet/Thrashers) will announce the return of the NHL in Manitoba today at 11 A.M Local time (12 PM East time)
Well, it was fun knowing you guys as the Thrashers. Maybe Atlanta will take another stab at the NHL in another 15-20 years.
Highly unlikely (imo), it's the second time it failed there, sure the POTENTIAL market is there. But you can't force people to go at the games.Sad for the fans there (because there is some). It's better in Winnipeg, the market is smaller but its a real hockey market.
And the only reason fans weren't there was because the team wasn't winning. Nobody wants to spend money to go watch a bunch of losers. Throwing a huge paycheck at one star player's not gonna do it if the team can't win. Get a team in a crappy market to go to the playoffs and win a round several years in a row, and you'll start parking asses in seats with people who'll start to believe the team's worth watching. And that's how you'll get fair-weather fans turning into die-hard hockey afficionados in a "non-hockey market". That's the way it works in ALL sports.
